It seems Sergey Sovkov’s paintings have to speak for themselves. There are plenty of his works to be found online, some are kind of shortcut commented – or liked. Some of his personal details are mentioned sparsely also: born 1972 in Kyschtym, a small Russian town at Oblast Čeljabinsk. Academic training at the department of art at the Russian University at Togliatti, graduation 1997, advanced education at the State Repin Institute St Petersburg, graduation in 2003, working as freelance artist since, exhibitions at home and abroad, sales to private and public collections, registered partnership with Erwin Sovkov in Vienna in 2016, joint works of art since.

His third solo exhibition at the Kunstbehandlung within 3 years is reflecting his signature style, which bring to mind stained-glass windows or mosaics. His subjects are, unmistakable, Russian men and youngsters, as well as still lifes depicting flowers and fruits. For the first time we are presenting drawings by the artist, which are pre-sketches for his paintings as well as studies from the nude.

In presence of the artist and his partner we are opening the show on 9th of March at 8 pm providing you a main chance to get talking with the artists. You are cordially invited to the exhibition and the opening. All works on show are presented and available in our online shop same time.
